well maybe these girls might spark an asian explosion like the boy band and the
blonde teenage chic and latin explosions of this past year. but honestly it's not
gonna happen now. the mainstream audience still hasn't accepted the asian talent
and we still think that any movies starring asian people will be a martial arts
movie or something. and it kinda hard 2 imagine an asian-american r&b artist in
the US. its just like white rappers. we know they're around but we don't take them
seriously. basically we're not taken seriously. that's basically it.

break out in the US at this time is 2 just be in the right place at the right

how come you didn't go prom? prom is like the most memorable event in high school

year old. Why do you think my music is considered to have a lot of
potential and filled with emotion? You don't get that by living the
normal life of being born going to school graduating college becoming
a lawyer/doctor and living happily ever after. Also I don't think you
notice but New York City is not a school. It is a city and if you have
ever been there and been to the non-commercial areas you know it is a
shithole. My hometown is a shithole too but I am just saying that all
these tourists talking about how great NYC is..is just a bunch of BS.
They just stay in Times Square shop and stay in the nice hotels. Try
going to Yonkers Queens Bronx or the red hooks section of Brooklyn.
They are shitholes.

I will answer for you...NO! Columbia is located in a shitty area has
an overrated reputation etc. Any college is a good place to learn. It
just depends on how rich you are. You can have a kid go to Florida State University go to the library everyday and study his ass off who will
probably be smarter than any ivy league kid. All colleges have the
resources it's just a matter of the student using them.

you should at least provide abundant facts to support your cause.

What's with all the shitting 'bout Cubic U album? I personally like it
b/c it actually fits my mood when I was listening to it. I guess one
has to experience certain kind of emotion in order to understand what
she's singing. I now like her style more than the American's R&B.
At least she has a much more sweet voice. It's kinda BS that you think
Hikki will not make fame in American music scene. Just wait & see what
Hikki can come up next. Columbia Univ. and NYC are two famous school

future...DONT READ FURTHER! I don't think Hikki will ever get
over in the USA. She speaks English but you have to remember
thissingers like her are a dime a dozen here. We have many
singers who make her look like crap and these singers are just
singing in local churches and plays. The main reason Hikki was
popular in Japan was because she brought a style of music that was
foreign to the Japanese people. It is very similar as to what
X-Japan did in the late 80's. They brought in a style of rock n'
roll that was very much like Guns N' Roses or Metallica. So for
all you Hikki fans that want to see Hikki get popular in the USA
I wouldn't hold your breath.
The US audience is also racist. I dunno whether the US population
knows it or not but if you take a Japanese teen singer and an
American teen singer and they were both good looking and had
equal singing ability...the American would be picked by the majority.
I think the only Asian that has a chance at all of being popular
in the USA is CoCo and even she will have a tough time. I actually
think the only Japanese musician that ever had a chance at making it
big in the USA was probably hide. Everybody else is either too much
of an American wannabe a common commodity in the USA or does not
speak enough English. I'm not being racist either because I am a hafu
and have experienced both cultures equally and just telling you all
what to expect. I think that Hikki's career will probably end when
she leaves for college because when she graduates in 4 years she will
not be marketable. She will be too old for Japanese female pop star
standards. The Japanese music business sucks that way but that's
how it is. Sad ain't it?
